"Ah, the zenith of maturity. Catch it at a perfect moment and there you have it, this wine now. Not too tertiary yet, still with a hint of freshness but with some enticing development. Dried raspberries and red currants, liquorice and dried mint. The fruit is very tart making it lively and finishing with a hint of fine dark chocolate. Mostly umami-driven flavours, meaty with mushrooms, slate-like cool and stony texture. Claret in style comes to mind. Light and gliding, really good. Drink soon." Kasia Sobiesiak (Sept 2023)
Halliday Wine Companion - 95 points
"An aged release of purity, immense vibrancy and the pleasures of a hearth, fire and creased leather armchair, incarnate as liquid. An opportunity, too, to relish a wine at an apogee of complexity and mid-weighted drinkability. Sweet loamy earth, varnish, camphor, mulch, Cuban cigar, and tinderbox, with an ineffable sweetness that defies obvious descriptives, lingering long. Thoroughly rewarding."
