Sweetwater Estate Shiraz 2010
The Hunter Valley is Australia’s premium Shiraz region. Sweetwater Shiraz grapes are hand picked on land that has been the setting since 1844, for one of the oldest known vineyard sites in the Lower Hunter Valley. Grown in ancient red soils, nourished by local clear waters and blessed by Australia’s abundant and constant sunshine.
The perfect vintage resulted in beautifully ripe pristine fruit.

The Wine Pilot - 94 points
"Beautiful, perfumed aromatics showing liquorice, sweet damp earth and violets. The mouthfeel is silky and long with savoury tannins and vibrant acidity. Integrated oak offers another layer of complexity and there is a crushed herbal note that would strongly encourage me to accompany this wine with roast lamb. Opens beautifully in the glass and is incredibly delicious." Emma Farrelly (February 2024).
The Real Review - 94 points
"Deep-ish brick-red to ruby with a tawny tinge in the rim; the bouquet shows attractive development in its earthy/savoury roast-meat and smoky charcuterie characters, the palate medium-full bodied and full of lovely mellow aged regional shiraz flavours, the tannins firmer and more robust than perhaps expected, a thoroughly delicious and captivating regional shiraz." Huon Hooke (Feb 2024).
Halliday Wine Companion - 92 points
"Estate-grown, matured in a 60/40% mix of French and American oak. Still has good colour, and the bouquet and palate are developing in good spirits, blackberry and plum with some regional earth and leather notes to underline the place." James Halliday (July 2021).
