Sweetwater Estate Shiraz Cabernet 2021
The 2021 Sweetwater Estate Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon blocks were picked over the course of several days in February. The 2021 vintage resulted in beautifully ripe and dynamic fruit. Deep red with plum, blackberry, sage and cassis aromas with fine grained tannins.

"Shiraz (64%) picked on 2 Feb ’21, cabernet (36%) picked 10 days later, vinified and matured separately. This ticks all the boxes, and does so with generosity of luscious black cherry and plum fruits. I doubt I would pick its Hunter Valley origin if served blind, which is not a veiled criticism of this wine."

"This feels as though East meets West here with the fragrance of red cherries wrapped with blackberries and dark figs, then some cassis and nettle surging up form the Cabernet
Sauvignon. It's hearty with some meaty notes of charcuterie and then the medium bodied nature of the Hunter Valley region. A very easy to drink wine that is in a very sweet spot, feeling plush in tannins and taut with fresh acidity. All round an excellent
example of the Aussie claret blend. I’d give it another 5-8 years in the cellar and no doubt still be impressed. Serve with a excellent home made family beef pie and mash."
