Sweetwater Estate Shiraz 2021
The Hunter Valley is Australia’s premium Shiraz region. Sweetwater Shiraz grapes are hand picked on land that has been the setting since 1844, for one of the oldest known vineyard sites in the Lower Hunter Valley.
The wet 2021 vintage resulted in beautifully ripe pristine fruit. Deeply coloured with fragrant cherry plum and violet aromas. The natural fermentation process was completed with maturation in oak barrels to produce a velvety soft palate with admiral length.

"Sweetwater Estate in Hunter Valley looks like a postcard from Tuscany. Beautiful bouquet. Floral and lifted. Velvety rose petals, raspberries, lavender, violets and cherry blossoms. Underneath, gently smoked meat with rubbed herbs, umami, sweet basil, hints of marzipan oak, cloves and earth. It’s elegant with medium-weight velvety tannins and a long line of cool, slightly orangey, acidity. To me, it’s a Syrah in style. And very pretty." Kasia Sobiesiak (March 2023)
The Real Review - 92 points
"Vibrant ruby colour in a glass that lifts with aromas of red berries and dusty earth. Palate sits with red and blue fruits, layered underneath we see dry earth and some cola spices. Medium bodied with sandy tannins ensure it carries good length and remains focused into the finish." Stuart Knox (Feb 2023)
Halliday Wine Companion - 91 points
"There's an earthy/savoury strand woven through a medium-bodied palate with blackberry and plum fruit. A traditional style of bygone years." James Halliday (Jan 2023)
